Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She is also a producer and director. Her starring role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick received an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. The show ended on the 13th, 2012 following the completion of its seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, with English origin. Sedgwick declares that she is Jewish and has stated that she attends Passover seders.
